Student Login Information
In order to access your student's Canvas account, you will need to go to jsd.instructure.com and login using your students login information. To receive more instruction on how to access this account, please watch the following video.
KPHS Grading System
KPHS utilizes a standards based grading system. This system focuses not only on assignments that get turned in, but also the knowledge your student has acquired. 80% of your students' grade will come from their scores on assessments, and 20% of their grade will come from weekly assignments. Observing a Canvas Course
There is an option for you to create a parent account in order to “observe” your students Canvas account. This option will allow you to look at each of your students' Canvas courses, as well as receive the same announcement and updates. Student Engagement and Attendance
Each week your student will be graded on both their attendance and engagement within each of their assigned courses. If you would like to know more about this grading protocol, please watch the following video.
KPHS Advisory Period
If your student is registered full-time at KPHS, they will be enrolled in the Teacher Advisory period. This class meets every Friday from 10:00-10:30 AM, and will be used for whole school assemblies and various types of non-subject based lessons. Checking Student Grades
If you would like to check your students' grades, you will need to login to either your parent Canvas account or your students Canvas account. For instructions on how to do this, please watch the following video.
How to Contact Teachers
In order to contact your students' teachers, you will need to navigate to kingspeak.jordandistrict.org. If you click on the “Our Team” tab, there is a list of all of our current teachers with a link to their teacher email.
